Andronikov Monastery of the Saviour

One of the most ancient monasteries in Moscow on the bank of Yauza River. Established in 1357 by Metropolitan Alexis. Its first hegumen was Saint Andronik, one of Sergii Radonezhsky's disciples.

The Saviour’s cathedral is the oldest stone temple in Moscow. The ex-monastery is a home to Andrei Rublev Museum of Old Russian Art, named after the most famous monk of this abbey.
